BASES OF THE CONCEPT «COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE» FOR READINESS FORMATION OF THE
PROFESSIONAL FOREIGN COMMUNICATION OF THE FUTURE EXPERTS IN THE SHERE OF HEALTH

Abstract. In the scientific theses
theoretical bases of the concept «communicative
competence» for formation of readiness for professional foreign dialogue of the
future experts of the sphere of health protection are presented.
communication with colleagues and patients is a basis of the modern doctor activity
nowadays. From that fact, how much effectively the future expert of medical
sphere has seized communication art, sometimes human life depends. Therefore
overall performance of the future doctors depends not only on their
professional, but also on their communicative competence, readiness for
professional dialogue in the foreign language. Thus, the purpose of the
article is the theoretical substantiation of the concept «communicative
competence» for its further use in the course of preparation of the future
workers of the sphere of health protection for professional foreign
The essence of the concept
«communicative competence» of the students – the future doctors is actual as in
the course of vocational training of experts of the sphere of health protection
the student should acquire necessary experience of communication, seize
corresponding knowledge, skills of the organisation and realisation of
different forms of communicative interaction with people.
In this connection we put the
task of ordering of existing authentic knowledge of questions of
communication, including specification of scientific representations about
essence of the communicative competence. At an investigation phase of features
of communicative competence of students of higher educational institutions of a
medical profile, in our opinion, it is necessary to define accurately concepts
"communication" and "competence", and also to carry out the
essential analysis of interrelation of the concept "communication"
with the concept "dialogue". The various points of scientific view
concerning definition of interdependence of these concepts can be divided into
three groups conditionally.
Scientists of the first group
consider that the concept "dialogue" is wider, than the concept
"communication". The last one is considered by them exclusively, as an
information interchange which does not lead to essential changes in behaviour,
thoughts, representations, personal actions of people. While
"dialogue" is defined as the difficult process when there is an enrichment
of each of participants for the account and information interchange, and
understanding of the interlocutor, and also influence of each of dialogue partners against

direction insist that the concept "communication" is much wider than "dialogue"
as the information interchange here occurs not only on a straight line between
people, but also is direct in the nature and in the society.
According to the third point of
view, concept "dialogue" and "communication" are quite
correct to name synonyms, but it is possible only in
the linguistic aspect while in pedagogics and psychology the huge attention is
given to definition of essence of each of these concepts to understand as
especial kind of human activity.
As for our point of view, such
definition is some kind of limited as it reflects only one of its aspects – an establishment and support
of communication, contacts. For this reason we consider that in the concept of definition
«communicative competence» should be displayed not only knowledge, abilities,
skills of the person which provide efficiency of comunication, but also the
expanded, well-founded concept of the efficiency which helps to realise how
productively possible information interchange for achievement of definite
purposes, satisfactions of requirements of the comunication between partners.
Thus, we can draw a conclusion
that communicative competence of the students – the future experts of the sphere
of health protection is their ability to professional foreign comunication, in
which process occurs not only as an exchange of the necessary information, but
also as fruitful cooperation, including moral and psychological atmosphere of
achievement of the maximum result in mutual relations with colleagues and patients,
influence on the partners of the communication. Studying of this question
promotes the further development of knowledge and concepts about features of
development of the communicative competence of the future doctors as a
prominent aspect both in public life, and in their future professional activity.
